Tagging

iam:UntagUser is a Tagging access-level action in the iam service. Grants permission to remove the specified tags from the user

Resource types

ARNs that iam:UntagUser can be scoped to in an IAM policy.

arn:${Partition}:iam::${Account}:user/${UserNameWithPath}
user

Condition keys

Keys you can use in the Condition block of a policy that grants iam:UntagUser.

iam:ResourceTag/${TagKey} String

Filters access by the tags attached to an IAM entity (user or role)

aws:ResourceTag/${TagKey} String

Filters access based on the tags associated with the resource

Example IAM policy

A minimal policy that allows iam:UntagUser. Replace "Resource": "*" with a specific ARN to follow least privilege.
